Who Is This Treatment Suitable For?
– Patients with early or advanced knee osteoarthritis who have not responded to conservative treatments (e.g., oral medication).
– Patients who have taken medication, undergone physical therapy, or received steroid injections but have not improved.
– Patients who cannot take medication due to complications affecting the digestive system or kidneys, or those with conditions that prevent the use of anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., heart disease, kidney disease, stomach ulcers).
– Patients without contraindications that would prevent PRGF injections.
When Should PRGF Injections Be Avoided?
– Patients with infections.
– Patients with platelet disorders or abnormal bleeding conditions.
– Patients under 12 years old.
– Pregnant patients.
– Cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy.
– Patients with unexplained knee osteoarthritis or inflammatory arthritis.
– Patients with severe osteonecrosis, complete ligament or meniscus tears, or loose bone fragments in the knee.
– Patients who have not undergone conservative treatment for at least 3–6 months. PRGF should also not be administered within 1 month of a steroid injection.
