Shingrix is a non-live recombinant zoster vaccine designed to prevent shingles and serious complications such as Postherpetic Neuralgia (PHN). It is recommended for adults, especially those aged 50 years and older, and individuals with weakened immune systems or those receiving immunosuppressive therapy.

Indications

Shingrix is indicated for:

Vaccination Schedule

• Dose 1: Month 0
• Dose 2: 2–6 months after the first dose

Why Adults 50+ Should Get Vaccinated

As we age, immunity decreases. The varicella-zoster virus (which causes chickenpox in childhood) can reactivate later in life as shingles. Symptoms may include:
